I honestly found Snow White annoying in the first volume. So this volume surprised me.
fantastico-francesca-deactivate asked: I don't know if you are comfortable answering this question. If Japanese is a hard langauge to learn, how come the illegal manga scanalator's are able to translate faster than a paid one.
Good question. But sorry your statement is not entirely true.
Pro translators can be very fast. However, pro translators have editors to check their work. Pro translators have printing schedules to work with. Pro translators have to at times get their translations approved from Japan. Printing takes 2 weeks to a month. Shipping/warehousing takes a month. Distribution of paper books takes a minimum of 4 months.
Most of these issues can be sped up for eBooks but approvals and release scheduling still have their own set times.
I can honestly say almost any Vertical translator can translate a chapter of manga within an hour or so. But remember we don’t release chapters individually online without permission or multiple layers of quality control. We have protocols to adhere to when releasing books.
And at the same time, often fans have noted the quality from speed scanners is also not very good. So that’s another issue.
Difficulty has little to do with it.
This was pretty good. I mean, the cover is intriguing enough.
Anonymous asked: I was browsing the loveless tag and came across your post (post/62158987281) I know this may seem pointless but the Eng ver cover is the same as the JP regular ver. cover. The other cover you linked is the JP Limited edition cover ; w ; so we pretty much got the Japanese cover, but because the extra content from the LE is included with each volume in english there is no reason to have a LE ver. I really like the LE covers though, don't you? ah ~
Thanks for pointing that out. I had no idea that Loveless had LE releases. I usually just use Amazon JP to get an idea when Viz will come out with the next volume (and seeing JP volume 12 come out last December means it’ll either come at the end of this year or even next year :(). I didn’t notice the regular edition in my search so I wondered why the cover was different.
Though, TBH, I’m just glad that this series was license rescued. I mean, you get to see this in English:
