I started on this series and I realized how anime/manga in a pure fantasy setting rarely grabs me these days. It’s a decent series, but I don’t get why this was highly recommended last year.

As I was reading it, I couldn’t help but remember all those conventions from Dragonball and Dragon Quest.

I had to laugh at this because this summarizes their relationship really well.

This was incredibly cliche, but I found it funny anyway.

And they lived happily ever after, lol.

I used to think nothing of this scene until it clicked one day that this might be related to Fucchy’s backstory.
Every time I get to this page now, I always go and think: Bloody subtle foreshadowing.

Concept sketch taken from The Art of The Secret World of Arriety. I’m floored by how much information is on the book - sketches, backgrounds, character designs (Arrietty looks so different in a bunch of them), insights and even the script is included.
The first meeting is my favorite scene in the whole movie, and it was nice to see how much planning went into it - the book had a lot of sketches related to it .

I love Alice’s “rival”, lol. Finding out what he is like was hilarious.

Aw, Ikigami 10. I’m sad it’s the end, especially when it felt so rushed (time skips :().
I really disliked the whole revelation about Japan, but this whole facet about human nature, activism and acquiescence is so true that it’s sad.

From the sticker included in the Miracle! Mimika opening theme CD.
I bought this on a whim and looked up what it was about. I mean, there’s no way CDs like these would have a sticker included unless it was popular enough.
Got a fun laugh at it for sure.
